Physiotherapist Emma Baldwin

Emma completed a Master of Physiotherapy at the University of Sydney, following a Bachelor of Health Science (Human Movement) also at the University of Sydney. Alongside her work in private practice, Emma has gained valuable experience in first-line injury management and diagnosis with sports coverage at the Inner West Netball Association.

Emma’s approach to physiotherapy is underpinned by her desire to help patients clearly understand the nature of their injury and the underlying contributing factors. She utilises evidence-based practice with a mix of hands-on manual therapy and individualised exercise prescription in order to help her patients achieve their goals and get back to doing the things that they love.

Clinically, Emma is interested in assisting people with musculoskeletal conditions such as neck and back pain and she also has a strong interest in helping patients recover from acute sporting injuries, particularly ankle and knee complaints. Emma has participated in many sports, playing representative basketball and competing in swimming at a national level. As a result of her participation in sport, Emma has firsthand experience in recovery and rehabilitation of her own sport-related injuries and can thus empathise with the impact these have on her patients, inspiring her to help them recover swiftly and get back to their activity as soon as possible.

Emma has extensive experience in Clinical Pilates. She has completed her APPI Clinical Pilates Training (Matwork and Equipment) and has a keen interest in helping patients through pre, ante and post-natal Pilates. Emma uses her Pilates skills in a one on one and group setting. This may be in the form of everyday patient rehabilitation, during post-injury maintenance, and to enhance well-being with ongoing strengthening, core training and prevention exercises often in the form of small group classes.

Outside the clinic, Emma is currently enjoying doing reformer Pilates herself and also enjoys doing boxing classes and weights training at the gym. She loves spending time with family and friends, searching for the best sunrise viewpoints in Sydney and enjoying coastal walks.

She is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
